Sub-Officer: 20 to 24 years

Constable (Grade-III), Bandman, Bugler, Forester-I, Game Watcher, Forest Guard: 18 to 40 years

AFPF Constable, Constable (WO/WT), Constable (UB), Fireman, Emergency Rescuer, Boatman: 18 to 25 years

Educational Qualification

Forester Grade-I: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Sub Officer & Constable (WO/WT): H.S. (Science) passed with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM).
Fireman & Emergency Rescuer: H.S. (Science) passed (PCM not mandatory mentioned, just Science).
Forest Guard, Game Watcher & Constable (UB) in APRO: H.S. (10+2) passed.
AFPF Constable, Constable (Grade-III), Bandman, Bugler: HSLC (Class 10) passed.
Boatman: HSLC Passed + Proficiency in Swimming.

Other Mandatory Requirements:

For Constable (Grade-III), Bandman & Bugler: Must have Home Guard Certificate OR Minimum NCC ‘A’ Certificate (Except Ex-Servicemen).

For Bandman: Proficiency in playing Bagpipes, Snare Drums, Tenor Drums, etc..

For Bugler: Proficiency in playing Bugle.

Language: Must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Registration: Must be registered with a Local Employment Exchange in Assam

Selection Process

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – 40 Marks:
Male: 3200m Race (within 14 mins) + Long Jump (Min 335 cm).
Female: 1600m Race (within 8 mins) + Long Jump (Min 244 cm).
Physical Standard Test (PST): Measurement of Height and Chest (Qualifying).
Written Test:
- For Forester Grade-I: 100 Questions, 100 Marks. (Negative Marking: 1/2 mark) .
- For All Other Posts: 100 Questions, 50 Marks (0.5 marks per Q). NO Negative Marking.
- Subjects: Arithmetic, English, Logic/Reasoning, Assam History/Geo/Polity, GK.
  4. NCC Weightage: Max 5 Marks (C Cert: 5, B Cert: 3, A Cert: 2).
  5. Oral/Viva Voce: 5 Marks.

Special Tests for Specific Posts:

Walking Test: Only for Forester Grade-I & Forest Guard (Qualifying). Male: 26km | Female: 16km in 4 hours.
Swimming & Boating Test: Only for Boatman (10 Marks).
Trade Proficiency Test: Only for Bandman & Bugler (10 Marks).
